MYSTEM JOINT REGEN

What is MyStem Joint Regen?

Joint Regeneration is a procedure where your blood is drawn and spun in our proprietary machine to separate your body’s own mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors, and then re-injected into the affected joint.  This procedure is 10xs more effective than Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).  Joint regeneration treatments can be performed in weakened or injured joints, tendons and ligaments all over the body.  Sports injuries, arthritic joints, and more specific injuries including ACL tears, rotator cuff tears, and plantar fasciitis may all be effectively treated with MyStem Joint Regen.

Benefits of MyStem

Medical research now suggests that stem cell therapy may be effective at treating many of the underlying mechanisms of generative diseases. The main benefit of using your stem cells over conventional treatment is that it is a type of regenerative medicine, which fosters your own body’s ability to heal itself.  Unlike surgery, stem cell treatment only requires the use of a needle to inject the cells into the affected locations of pain or disability.  There is no need to create large incisions, so this procedure is a minimally invasive therapy.  Unlike medication or surgery, stem cell treatment presents almost no side effects.  Sine surgical methods, such as joint replacement, rely on artificial implants or prosthetic materials.  In many cases, the human body adequately tolerates these materials.  Nevertheless, the risk of rejection is always present when using foreign substances.  Stem cells harness your own cells, so there is no risk of your body rejecting the cellular material.  With the potential to completely restore damaged tissues and joints, this treatment can heal and transform, changing lives for the better and improving an individual’s quality of life.

What can I expect?

Stem cell injections are a minimally invasive treatment given in the comfort of our clinic.  The treatment takes approximately one hour, though the injection itself typically takes less than ten minutes.  The treatment begins by drawing a small amount (less than 2-3 tubes per joint area) of your blood. The blood is placed into our proprietary machine and is spun to separate   This special purpose, FDA-approved machine separates the wanted platelets and other substances used for your PRP treatment.

Prior to drawing your blood, we will apply a topical numbing agent on the affected area.  The stem cells are then injected directly into the injured or diseased body tissue. The injected stem cells immediately begin to stimulate your body’s own growth agents directly at the affected area. The stem cell treatment bypasses any scar tissue or swelling surrounding the injured or worn tissue.

It is recommended for patient to eat light meals, drink plenty of water and exercise 1-2 hours before the procedure.
You are restricted from the use of non-steroid anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) one week prior to the procedure and throughout the course of treatments.  Initially the procedure may cause some localized soreness and discomfort. Most patients only require some extra-strength Tylenol to help with the pain. Heat may be applied to the area as needed. Most patients can resume their normal daily activities after the first week.
