MYSTEM PLANTAR FASCIITIS REGEN

What is MyStem Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.  It involves

Inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).   Ignoring plantar fasciitis may result in chronic heel pain that hinders your regular activities.  Compensation occurs when trying to change the way you walk due to the intense pain which may result in foot, knee, hip or back problems.

What is MyStem Treatment?

At MyStem, we only provide you with the most updated, effective, and innovative treatments to help heal your body the most natural way possible.  Treatment for plantar fasciitis includes a regenerative plasma treatment that is 10xs more effective than PRP.  This treatment consists of the injection of your own body’s stem cells and growth factors to trigger the body’s natural repair and regeneration processes.  This plasma treatment has been found to replace traditional surgery for many orthopedic conditions.

Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis:

  • Stabbing pain occurring with your first steps in the morning

  • Foot/heel pain with prolonged standing or sitting

  • Foot/heel pain that is worse after exercise

Causes of Plantar Fasciitis:

Your plantar fascia is in the shape of a bowstring, supporting the arch of your foot and absorbing shock when you walk. If tension and stress on this bowstring become too great, small tears can occur in the fascia. Repeated stretching and tearing can irritate or inflame the fascia, although the cause remains unclear in many cases of plantar fasciitis.

Risk Factors for Plantar Fasciitis:

  • Age (most common between ages 40-60 years old)

  • More common in females

  • Exercises (long distance running, ballet dancing, and certain aerobic exercises)

  • Flat feet

  • High arch in foot

  • Abnormal patterns of walking

  • High-heeled shoes

  • Obesity

  • Occupations that keep you on your feet

  • Wearing worn-out shoes with thin soles

Who Can We Treat?

  • Routinely in chronic pain or have had long-term plantar fasciitis

  • Patients who have indications of a co-existing bursitis, capsulitis, synovitis or arthritis

  • Complex plantar fasciitis

Benefits of MyStem Treatment:

  • Stimulation of the tissue’s natural regeneration processes via the activation and release of natural growth factors in the injured tissue.

  • Local inflammatory reaction that promotes the increase of blood flow to the injured tissue.

  • Restriction of scar tissue formation.

  • No risk of a transmittable infection or disease due to using your own blood

  • Natural alternative to surgery

  • Helps treat unresponsive chronic pain and injuries

What Can I Expect?

After a thorough consultation with one of our providers, we will first apply a topical numbing agent to the bottom of your foot.  Secondly, we will draw a small amount of blood and place it in our proprietary machine to separate your stem cells and growth factors from your red blood cells.  We will then aspirate your stem cells and growth factors and inject the plasma into the area where the plantar fascia attaches to the heel.  There is mild pain from the process which can typically last a few days post procedure.  You will be placed in a fitted boot for the first couple of weeks.  For optimal results, limited physical activity will be recommended for at least 4-6 weeks.  The number of treatments will be determined after your first injection.  On average, the amount of treatments is between 1-3 treatments, spaced 1 month apart.  Follow up will be 2 weeks post-procedure.
